Top 100 Music Albums of the 1970s by mrmcrook

I realize my chart has a lot of compilations and many people believe compilations shouldn't count. The reason I have included them is so I can add a few bands/artists that have fantastic music and should be recognized. Otherwise the list will be hugely dominated by a dozen bands that everyone knows has a huge number of worthy albums. Hence why the large amount of compilations and live albums.

Any footnotes are just personal ramblings for my own entertainment.
And to remind me of the joy the music brings before all memory is erased.

This would probably be my favorite Priest album. Massively under rated and often overlooked because it didn't have any "hits' on it. For fuck's sake, plenty of these tracks could of been pushed and been just as popular as 'Living after Midnight' or 'You got Another Thing Coming' if made mainstream. This is a fantastic album from start to finish. Definitely one of there best. [First added to this chart: 10/20/2020]

I got this after I'd bought 'British Steel' & 'Screaming for Vengence'. Very different to both of those. Bit more proggy with some slower songs included. Took a bit to get used to but quickly grew on me to become one of my favorite Priest albums. Halford's vocals on this are sublime, showcasing how incredible his range was. Another fantastic album following 'Sin after Sin'. Starting to move into slightly heavier songwriting. Majority of tracks on this are top grade hard rock/metal. Lacking a bit of the variety other albums have. Even though there's a ballad, a lot of the songs have the same structure & sound making it all blend together a bit. Don't get me wrong, still a great Priest album, it's just that there's quite a few others I'd put before this [First added to this chart: 10/20/2020]
