Top 100 Music Albums of the 1970s by mrmcrook 
I realize my chart has a lot of compilations and many people believe compilations shouldn't count. The reason I have included them is so I can add a few bands/artists that have fantastic music and should be recognized. Otherwise the list will be hugely dominated by a dozen bands that everyone knows has a huge number of worthy albums. Hence why the large amount of compilations and live albums.
Any footnotes are just personal ramblings for my own entertainment.
And to remind me of the joy the music brings before all memory is erased.

Zeppelin is a strange beast. So many fantastic albums. The hard thing I find for myself is which I think is best. Goes in circles. Led Zep II held the title for many years. IV was always knocking at the door. But over the past few years III has been the one I keep returning to and loving everything on it. So it holds the title. For now. All hail the Zep.

A classic album. It's a pity most of the first side, especially Stairway to Heaven was thrashed so much by the radio and public alike that I got sick of those songs. It slightly put me off for quite a while. It's side two that's the true savior of this album.

This was the last of the Zeppelin I got well after I had all others. Hence I always had a weariness that it wouldn't live up to the glory of all others before. So it took a bit before fully appreciating the greatness of it. Sure, they have better albums, but this is still fucking shit hot. Very guitar driven rhythms and riffs. Zeppelin do no wrong
