Top 100 Music Albums of the 1970s by mrmcrook 
I realize my chart has a lot of compilations and many people believe compilations shouldn't count. The reason I have included them is so I can add a few bands/artists that have fantastic music and should be recognized. Otherwise the list will be hugely dominated by a dozen bands that everyone knows has a huge number of worthy albums. Hence why the large amount of compilations and live albums.
Any footnotes are just personal ramblings for my own entertainment.
And to remind me of the joy the music brings before all memory is erased.

Another early introduction for me into the world of rock that paved the way for musical preferences. I was one of those obnoxious pricks that went round school reciting the Vincent Price part of Black Widow all the time. I thought I was so neat. What a prat.

This was another that was instilled into me from an early age through the brothers collection. I still love it. Nobody else I know even likes it. That's amusing.

The irony of this album is that even though 'Shine on you Crazy Diamond' & 'Wish you were Here' are the popular go to tracks, 'Welcome to the Machine' & 'Have a Cigar' are actually better. I think I've just been over saturated with the two main songs over the years

One of the first hard rock albums I bought so I have a soft spot for it. Kicking off full tilt with 'Let it Roll' & 'Shoot Shoot'. The slower numbers fit in well and the whole album has a great flow. Very under rated as anything Michael Schenker touched during this period is true gold.
