Top 100 Music Albums of the 1980s by mrmcrook 
The 80's was the decade when a lot of premium metal came out. It was the time when I was obsessed with it. My tastes expanded in future years but overall the albums of the heavier nature put out during this time massively dominate this list.
I realize my chart has a lot of compilations and many people believe compilations shouldn't count. The reason I have included them is so I can add a few bands/artists that have fantastic music and should be recognized. Otherwise the list will be hugely dominated by a dozen bands that everyone knows has a huge number of worthy albums. Hence why the large amount of compilations and live albums.
Any footnotes are just personal ramblings for my own entertainment.
And to remind me of the joy the music brings before all memory is erased.

My favorite Chilli's album. More oomph, less commercial. More rock, fuck all filler. A great album all round

Great follow up to 'Back in Black'. It gave me a bit of faith in Brian. Then it turned to shit and was all downhill after this. Definitely the 2nd best he has done as vocalist. A lot of good songs on this right through. Worthy to have in a collection

One of the better debut albums out there. Solid right through and setting there name in legendary status. It is truly a great album. As for the band, it was all downhill from there as all other albums had the odd great song but were mainly filler. They don't deserve the accolades that have been heaped upon them.

This was one of the first albums I bought as a young adult once I'd discovered my love for metal. Good Priest album. Not their best but up there. Reason being, the standout tracks are killer. Now, I thought there was a few tracks that I always seemed to deem as filler. On a recent listen I've discovered they're not as bad as I thought.

It really is a joy re-getting CD's of albums you haven't heard for 20 plus years due to having no record player. . This is great. My favorite Slayer. Album of 2 half's, the first being vastly superior. I find it interesting that 'Reign in Blood' gets mass limelight for being the so-called best Slayer album due to it being produced by Rick Rubin. The tracks on that are at light speed exceeded, but this I feel is more refined. This is also produced by Rick Rubin and it's way better. My opinion, that's all. Gotta love the delivery of the lyrics. No-one does it quite like Tom

Great album. One of the staples within the NWOBHM era. A lot of classic killer tracks. Worthy in any metal collection. Some cheesy lyrics but we can look past that. 03/24
