Conceptual extension - Part 6, The 2000s: "Music from the global village"

2000s (2000-09) hasn't been passed very long time.For some (certainly part of BEA's members), year 2000 (yeah, -Kid A- year!), may sound like nostalgia.I understand that some people want to "keep up with the spirit" and listen to the music of their time.It's not my way to work. I am too, focusing on the history of a person. Therefore, I can't immediately find the result of the new currents. I can see only aftermath.
Of the decade, the name "Music from the Global Village" has two meanings. First of all, information technology has reduced the world (such as this site). Second, the source of many a musical work can be just as well classical music, free jazz to world music.In addition, music is available .. everywhere! Listening to music requires / to develop media literacy. This allows pearls to find!
My list consists only the pearls. This 2000s profile, a tribute to the other, The Previous Charts.
Yes, I'm, old music lover. I also like the new stuff. The new must have something recognizable, but something - a personal touch.

"Felt Mountain" is like a medley forgotten missed James Bond-pearls and Ennio Morricone pastiche, has not attempted to cover up. When I listened to the album for the first time so amazed:"Lovely Head" - where Alison Goldfrapp displays her whistling techniques (better than mine, I can't even whistle!). The album closes with "Horse Tears," the longest song on the album at just over five minutes. This song boasts an array of instruments from the viola, strings, violin, double bass and cello. The vocal arrangement is gorgeous because it's so bizarre and evocative. I don't want to catorgorise "Felt Mountain" into a particular musical style, but I suppose it could be best described as 'chill out' music. Radiohead is not easy to make the listener albums. "OK Computer" seemed difficult at the time of "The Bends" in comparison, and Kid A, in turn, from the very different planet than the band's previous publications. "Yesterday I woke up sucking a lemon" repeating Thom Yorke album opening track - as summarized from the word go, what common sense and awareness level of this work are walked through. Album's a highlights are traditional-sounding Radiohead "Optimistic",and delirious fever ballad "How To Disappear Completely".The music combines the simplicity and madness, and chaos and beauty. On this album, Radiohead created itself "the world most independent band".They are above the common tastes. Despite the album rose to number one on Billboard's chart. I think I was almost asleep when I first heard music from the album "Virgin Suicides". Late one autumn evening in 2001 I listened to a radio program called "Avaruusromua" / SpaceJunk (whose music consists of ambient, classical music, and philosophical speech, spokesman was Jukka Mikkola). Some ambient music lover wanted it to play in the program. Talk also turned to film (Sofia Coppola). I had a really earnest mind at ease, when the album was borne ears with music. "Virgin Suicides" acts without a movie. But it is also an important part of the film. [First added to this chart: 06/17/2012]

Although Erykah Badu has had time to get tired so many times, and her comparison between Billie Holiday, then the juxtaposition can not be avoided. These masters of tone color, singing and musical style are so close to each other.I have found my "Mama's Gun" when it got great reviews in Finnish music magazine Soundi. Maybe I was expecting something bigger and more interesting than the sky channels (MTV, VH1), singing and dancing female artists. On this album (to me) was the so-called, a social occasion.

The Television can be heard soon the "Big Exit" repeating the guitar in the background pattern, and album vocal force and assurance is a lot of Patti Smith. Getting a track in addition to Polly Jean is also a guitarist shines in "This Is Love" , a riff is pure The Stooges."The Stories from City, Stories from the Sea" by PJ Harvey the first album, which is not saturated by the various neuroses. I got excited about this (Ute Lemper) album, when I saw the Teema channel (Finnish TV channel) program called "September Songs", which was based on music composed by Kurt Weill."Punishing Kiss" is album devoted primarily to songs by contemporary songwriters, extends her reputation by incorporating the work of artists influenced by Weill: Elvis Costello (three selections), Tom Waits (two), and Nick Cave (one), but the primary collaborators on the album are the members of the British group the Divine Comedy, who provide the backing tracks on most of the songs, and three compositions by group members Neil Hannon and Joby Talbot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2gNV5l_seY If you love Annie Lennox, this is it.
