It was Cold and unfamiliar.like a long trip through the rabbit hole. The unseen or better to say "unfelt" state.I was just gazing like a child and trying to somehow complete the puzzle."What does Kid A mean?" I was repeating and repeating while Thom was repeating "There are two colors in my head".
The Honest Intro of Kid A made me feel warm right in the middle of this Cold Earth.Later it felt like birth.I always consider this song as the birth of "Kid A".The first Artificial Human on earth. And "Everything in it's right place" is like the creation.
You Grow up and step into this fuzzy and temerarious world. You See,hear, feel the great disorderliness in a world that tries to look ordered. How do you feel? I feel like "The National Anthem".
Is there anyway to escape?Suicide?Hating your creator like Marvin the paranoid android did? You have to face it.You are here. But you keep trying to calm yourself by repeating "I'm not here" ... hard to believe. But it is happening. You are escaping it but the shadow just grows bigger and bigger and whenever you look down to your feet you just see the darkness of the big shadow of this earth. You keep running and screaming "I'm not here" ...
"Treefingers" Really sounds like Rebirth to me.Like the famous movie scene where you fall down in the water and you start loosing your breath ... but then your pulse returns and you still feel like fighting for surviving.Like the famous movie scene where you have lost all of your hope and you start to rebuild.

You're back in town after a long time. But now something has changed : "The Way you see the world" . You feel small but optimistic. You can feel the strength of the stronger. And You face it that you have limited powers , but with that in mind , you know that the best you can is good enough.
There is a time in our lives when we look at around ourselves , maybe at the sky , and ask ourselves "Is this a rabbit hole?" or "Is this all fantasy or what ..? " . We'll probably never find an answer to that ... and you start questioning you're existence.Kid A starts to do that too.He starts to feel restless and worried , Screaming that he is alive."Idioteque" is not just talking about Kid A.It's about us all.Not just human.Any living thing is on the run to survive. They are all afraid of what is going to happen next , and they are more afraid that maybe nothing is going to happen.
Yes.There comes a time when you get tired of all of this.of running for life. You ask for a change in your state.at least kid A does.Your tired of waking up every morning and now you feel trapped in life.Your are tired of the "Morning Bell" waking you up each and every morning.Asking it to release you.
"You didn't have to ask , dear Kid A"
Even Kid A will fall asleep a day.All that has passed. After all that he has experienced. He starts to look back at them.Kid A is Dying. It's all getting to an end.Any birth will end up with a death.Who knows what his Particles are going to turn to,but he knows the fact that death is just about a change.Like he changed once to become "Kid A".So he says that he's going to see you in the next life.Slowly Closes his eyes.Magic.It's all over. Perfection is finally found in death.
Silence,
Silence,
Silence.

I grew up as an Idealist. This is how my thoughts sound. A Safe and Sound world where you actually have "more" control over your life. "In Rainbows" is the sound when I broke down, and saw myself just as another specie crawling on the ground, and nothing more. No Ideal life, no ideal job, no ideal wife. I was wearing the most glorious clothes that my mind had created, but at once I was "Nude". I wasn't even complete for love, and i never will be. I thought one day i will reach the ideal life i was dreaming for, but i won't. In my love relationship, I had to "Hit the bottom and escape". I had to accept my Uncorrectable weaknesses and start living with.
I'm just another specie, who was "Crazy not to follow". Because I'm incomplete, and it was "All I Need".
My Thoughts, they can be "All wrong", or "All right". I was in the middle of a circle I didn't want to be in. I didn't choose to be in, but I had to. I was drowned by my sins, had no ability to control myself from drowning. I was "Dancing for the Pleasure" and blamed the Reckoner. "You are not to blame for".
My life used to be white and neat, but this album was exactly released by the time i was dropped in the middle of a colorful place. Somewhere like "In Rainbows". I learned that love is about lack and not about perfection. I learned that my death is just something that is happening for a lot of my type, every five seconds, and it's not going to be special. The "Videotape" i'll record will be forgotten, and put in the end of an album, and it doesn't matter whether I was crying or not strong enough to say Goodbye, Eye to eye. In Rainbows is Incomplete, like I am.

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart is rated in the top 12% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 87.7/100, a mean average of 87.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 88.0/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 11.0.

Interesting, maybe a little too 2000s and 2010s orientated. LOVE your descriptions of some albums, especially Kid A and In Rainbows

This is an outstanding chart! Funeral and Illinois are fantastic albums, and it's really nice to see Grimes's Vision on here. Your notes are detailed and fascinating--would love to see you continue to add those.

Good list! Will have to come back this one. Never heard of Low Roar. Appreciate your appreciation of Deafheaven and placement of Souvlaki at #2. So great.
