Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

You really do need more Waylon Jennings... and I still see no Aerosmith. Seems they would fit your chart.

70s, 80s, judas and hard rock... we all like what we like and you definitely have a distinct countdown. Rock on!
Not a bad list. I havent listened to much Iron Maiden yet so I don't really know if I like them. Nice to see Smashing Pumpkins in there.
A bit too metalcentric but you have alsoo included some other very good choices. Just one gripe; don't like compilations in charts but that's just me. Overall, nice chart.

That is a good point about being honest. Seriously, how many people on here embellish to make themselves look like they have a wider range of tastes???
