Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 86.9/100, a mean average of 86.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 87.0/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 10.5.

I have never seen a chart with so much progressive rock, as some other commentators have noticed. Yet, the chart does contain some genres that might not be expected from a progressive rock fan – pop, electronic and even one album of early rap.

I can really fault some choices, like ‘Fallen’ and ‘Asia’, but this is by no means a bad chart even so. As others have noted, notes would make it substantially better.

We have a contemporary prog rock lover, something not too frequent in this webpage. Great selection.

Loooove the prog heavy charts. BEA doesn't have a ton of prog heavy charts so I can't believe I haven't seen this yet.

Great chart with some wonderful and underrated records. Amazing top 10.

Pretty heavy on the prog, but original and worthwhile in that, too. One could argue that prog albums really are the best albums ever. I, too, have a deep (and deepening) love for Hand Cannot Erase, truly one of a kind.
