Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. A nice enough chart ~ but I do think that music from non-US artists deserve more than 9 entries across the decade.

Interesting chart. A lot of good material. Some not my taste, but some that I haven't heard yet. Gotta give them a good listen! I don't get the popularity of Kanye West either. But obviously, some do.
I never understood whats so good about Kanye and trust me I tried. I find TPAB better than Good Kid. The Suburbs is good, I wouldnt put it #1 but still lots of hits on that one. Aesop and Shabazz on here, nice. I find Cunninlynguists and Masta Ace also have good records in that era.

I was gonna comment "this chart is very heavy on the 2010's" and then I realized it was a best of the 2010's.... Anyway, solid list!
