Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 83.1/100, a mean average of 82.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 82.4/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 9.5.

Great mix of genres, popular stuff and lesser known stuff. Looked at your chart because of The Villagers. Bowie and Pearl Jam are pretty awesome indeed and three from each artist doesn't bother me because I've seen multiple charts where they have five or more of each like for example Radiohead. True they are an excellent band but we get the point haha. I really like this chart though, good work.

pretty good, but very heavy on the Pearl Jam. Still some great picks. Gotta love Low

Nice! Given my similarity to much of your taste, I'll have to check out Donald Fegan.

interesting chart, too heavy in the 90's probably my least favorite decade since the 50s

So much Gabriel and Bowie shows that you have excellent taste! When I also see some odd genius gems like John Foxx, Donald Fagen, early Police and Eels I get really interested in the rest of the stuff you've got there. Thanks for inspiration.

Very strong chart! Grace and Closing Time are both fantastic albums. I love Pearl Jam, but I'm not so sure I'd put seven of their albums in my top 100. But that's the beauty of this site--the differences in tastes between users. I may need to revisit No Code; I like "Red Mosquito" but haven't explored the album much beyond that.

I love pearl jam but even I am not so sure all their albums should be in a top 100. And one from R.E.M. at #1 and then no others?

Good, appreciable the many italian fills in (in addition to classic songwriters is very interesting in particular the choice of Massimo Volume) and the different genres but..."No Code" and "Riot Act" in top ten? And both over "Ten"?!?!? Decisely I don't agree...
