Beatles albums really are just about how much I like the songs. Simple I know, but they aren't high climbers on this chart despite being a favourite of mine simply because the consistency of their albums as a whole is sort of...compromised. This isn't a proper album really and the pacing is a bit mad, but I quite like that. The title track introduces this Peppers-lite premise which vanishes basically as soon as the track ends, the dreamy side 1 closes with the magnificent I am the Walrus, and then side 2 is a group of Beatles classics that actually gel together perfectly. Operatic jazz that sounds like a nocturnal, polluted, bustling city crumbling under its own weight. Some moments on here are very raw and remorseful, somehow angry and romantic at the same time. It's very well-produced, and doesn't shy away from a little studio experimentation like a lot of jazz might. [First added to this chart: 09/05/2017]

very good chart, we share some favorites. i don't usually say this but i think you find a lot of stuff you might like on my chart. interested to see how this one grows over time! i imagine it'll be worthy of a 100 in a year or two as you discover and explore more
