Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart is rated in the top 1% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 94.5/100, a mean average of 94.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 95.7/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 8.0.

Few charts seem to reflect the member's personality so well. The core is the history of electronic and electro-acoustic music, but also a wide range of experimental music, contemporary music and eccentric jazz choices. Also appreciate the pithy comments for every album.

You consistently gave me recommendations that fascinated and amazed, so I had to check out your chart and I'm not disappointed. Stunning variety and appreciation for the avant-garde, not to mention your short little descriptions compliment the albums wonderfully. Will absolutely be raiding this for hidden gems ...

Ok now this, this is the most original chart I've seen on here. It makes me want to listen to everything on here. I've only heard a handful. I love that you have Big Science by Laurie Anderson and cool seeing Cornelius.

oh thanks but I'd have to disagree, there's a ton of people on here who are on their own wild trip and do good stuff, like dividesbyzero, kool keith sweat, brun027, jimmy dread, splashfoop, and a ton of others. and even the people who I don't share taste with exactly, they're still cool and doing their thing, I wouldn't say I'm higher than any of them really.

Whenever I look up an obscure electronic pioneer or album you've usually listened to it. This list has a lot for me to explore.

This is the kind of awesome chart that makes me wanna try to change my listening habits a bit. But i wont. I cant help it if my taste in electronic music runs toward the sensationalistic. Ha ha. It just DOES. I cant help it. Even the ambient i like is sensationalistic. Nice to see Fennesz way up there tho. And REAL nice to see Come Away With ESG. An old favorite of mine. Tho i actually prefer the Dance to the Beat of Moody 12".
