The opening Q Part 1 announces its fusion-ness right from the get go with frenzied drumming like Billy Cobham with a couple Red Bulls in his tank, and distortion guitar paired with rock organ. The song eventually descends into free soloing sax playing avant garde mayhem and, just when you think it you've had about enough, it morphs, bit by bit, back into melody and stability, all to great effect. I was literally cheering.
