I don't know quite what this song is about--memories of making pottery as a kid?--but the lyrics are characteristically nostalgic and evocative and a little menacing, like many of the tracks on The Silver Gymnasium: "We crashed through cased glass / And the white pot burst of the fiery blast / We fled through chilled air and the deafening land, scattering ash / Sun is here and I'm gonna crack, crack, crack / Sun is here and I'm gonna crack." I hope not, Will Sheff, because I want to hear more of your memories of growing up in small-town New Hampshire.
