"Love this strategy of having 12 songs that are all good and interesting, performances that are tight and dynamic, and production that's organic and warm and punchy. More artists should try this because it might make their music good."Reply

When she released Motomami I thought to myself wow how is she gonna top that? She'll have to divert to a totally different direction and still deliver in order to keep up with Motomami's greatness and boy did she do that. Rosalia is insane in the best way possible and this is one of the best albums not only of 2025 but of the decade, and I believe one day it will be regarded as one of the greats. Such beautiful songwriting, from lyrics to melodies and vocal delivery. She sounds amazing, the record is produced perfectly and the sound (even though a bit safe for me, I wish she went harder here and there) goes so hard. This is music that makes you feel and experience and that is what music is all about. 10s across the board."[+]Reply

Bon Iver (SF - USA - Apr 25) - Sable, Fable

A bit glitchy at times, it’s still probably my favourite of Justin Vernon’s output, other than perhaps 2011s ‘Bon Iver, Bon Iver’. Could imagine drifting along the fast lane of the autobahn, thinking of spent sun tan lotion and oregano-flecked feta, whilst a 4-mile tailback of angry Alpina drivers are flicking v’s with reckless, bodykit-fuelled abandon. Expansionist, but not in an invade Greenland sort of way. The skies may never close but, when Michael Laudrup’s hair bounces in the wind, top down and product free, there is little as soothing in 2025. No one dares undertake.

I didn’t have big expectations, since I wasn’t that into their first two albums. But this one, I fell in love with. The balance between the three singers, in both melodies and lyrics, is spot on. They complement each other beautifully.
The arrangements are full of surprises and feel genuinely fresh. The only band it sometimes reminds me of is Gentle Giant, mostly because of the recorder parts and the way Tyler Hyde’s voice occasionally echoes Kerry Minnear’s. But really, they stand on their own here. They’ve found a unique sound and fully mastered it on this album.
This music really speaks to me. I’m so glad I bought this record and took the time to sit with it. I’m now a fan of Black Country, New Road, something I couldn’t have said before this album."[+]Reply
"McKinley Dixon has come into his own as one of music's most thoughtful emcees. The heart and soul that he puts into his work shines through in every bar, every beat, and every minute detail is stunning. It's a joy to experience his music"Reply
