"Normally I prefer studio versions, but some of the songs here (e.g. Sultans of Swing and Telegraph Road) are so great that I never play the studio versions anymore. Mark Knopfler at his best!"  Reply

"For all you "smooth rock" fans out there, this is essentially the British equivalent of Yacht Rock. Whereas the 70s American yacht rock was breezy & upbeat, the New Romantics were somber & arty. Owes a sizable debt to Roxy Music. fave track: Backwaters"  Reply

"Really great album. Contains 3 Cohen classics, "Hallelujah", "If it be your will" and "Dance me to the end of love". All other tracks are good as well with some great poetry; the lyrics to "Night Comes On" especially resonate with me. I'm surprised it isn't regarded higher by more reviewers. A mu..."  [+]  Reply

"An absolute masterpiece of mediterranean? music. An orgy of sounds, instruments, vocals (genoa dialectal)and genius. Fabrizio De André ¡what name! is a fabulous singer-songwriter but here is beyond any label or way at his best. (Also a favorite of Wim Wenders)."  Reply

"Along with Blag Flag and Bad Brains, Minor Threat helped create one of the most intense and heartfelt genres. Hard Core! Although the musicianship isn't completely there yet, this band deserves a nice score for creating a genre that spawned some of the greatest bands ever."  Reply

"authentic and native heavy metal album. if you like this kind of music (pure heavy metal), you will adore this one quite likely. dio has a fantastic hardrock voice - maybe the best? imo much more intense than judas priest's shot."  Reply

"The first cinematic and neon lit masterpiece from the Blue Nile. Like it's successor, hats, it's that perfect late night album, at the time between midnight and dawn. Romantic and lovely."  Reply

"I stumbled upon a Butthole Surfer set at CBGB on YouTube and was pleasantly surprised. Really dug the set so I decided to check out some of their music. Interesting listen. The album hits a nice stride with Dum Dum Wolly Boly and Negro Observer. The rest is a little too hardcore punk or just plai..."  [+]  Reply
