"My favorite Coltrane and one of my top five jazz albums. Lee Morgan is my favorite trumpet player, so the two of them together is great, but this is also the moment when John Coltrane begins to blossom. He's just on the edge of the innovations of Giant Steps, he had been studying, and his songwri..." [+] Reply

"Although I'm not as in love with this record as many here, I do find this a rich record from an aging singer filled with emotion, life experience and reflection. Billie's raw voice is past her prime but is drenched with the knowing heartache that comes with surviving life. While it doesn't wow me..." [+] Reply

"I tend to put my jazz collection down for months at a time and when I do, I return to Miles or Mingus. But every time this one makes its way into my ears I remember why it's my favorite jazz album. Every track is perfect." Reply

"In hopes of doubling their airplay, the Crickets' second album was titled Buddy Holly and released on the Coral label. The only difference is the absence of backing vocals, but that's it. It's a Crickets record, another classic, and the last Crickets album before Holly's death. The Crickets would..." [+] Reply

"If you're a rock fan and haven't listened to this yet, do so as soon as you can. At times, this almost sounds like a documentary on African music- just listen to "Hush Your Mouth". But this is also the origins of hard, garage, and psychedelic music we all love, and much of that has to do with McD..." [+] Reply

"This is what I thought all jazz sounded like when I was younger. Not in a bad way. In a great way (also not In a Silent Way). Fast, winding, complex, crazy talented musicians. Yeah, it can be a bit similar to other jazz, but this is what other jazz acts at the time (and now) are aspiring for." Reply

"I really like the chill, "cool", feel of this album. I think it hits that better than any other of his I have listened too. Just chill jazz." Reply
