"i think it takes a very specific kind of person to like coldplay and appreciate them as a serious band. i veiw their good songs as paintings.i think that if one has any backround in music theory and studys these songs you find that they obviously knew what they were doing most songs start at the ..." "This is a brilliant album. I can't believe I've forgotten to add it too my chart for so long! So many good influences on it and the lyrics say so much in so little. Always play it before parties to get in the mood, songs like "Someone Great" and "All My Friends" remind me to cherish my time with ..." [+] Reply

"Raw edgy dirty rock. What a great album ! The Stripes recorded this album with all vintage instruments, none dated post-'63. Dripping into a melting pot of styles of music keep the pace changing and developing. A great garage band that uses very little to accomplish so much." Reply

"My worthless two cents on Coyne's lyrics... it's all subjective, of course... A lot of bands tackle the themes covered in some of the work of the Lips, but in my opinion few do it in Coyne's unpretentious fashion. I can relate to his musings on life and love far better than any other musician or ..." [+] Reply

"I'm a sucker for Bon Iver. This album lacks the textural depth that I normally want from "great" albums, but his songwriting and melodys and pure emotion that goes into his songs work well even if it's just him and an acoustic guitar. Somehow his albums create nostalgia after only a few listens." Reply

"First four tracks are amazing dance tunes, very memorable. The rest of the album is slightly a step down but still very good, just the imbalance of quality upsets the overall quality. Aother nitpick is it is 'too long' and could be cut down, even possibly removing some filler. Not a bad song and ..." [+] Reply

"For those that don't know what Marmite is, basically it's a yeast spread that you put on toast or crumpets; a quite strong and distinct taste. They say you either love it or hate it... Is Amnesiac like Marmite? For me, "Pyramid Song" is very easy to love and the ratio of who love it to those that..." [+] Reply

"My love for this album is undoubtedly a bit sentimental, as it was maybe the first album that I listened to enough as an adolescent to more-or-less memorize. All these years later, however, it still strikes me as a pretty stunning accomplishment. It’s not quite unified enough to be considered a c..." [+] Reply
