"This is a decent album, it really is. Yet, I just don't see the appeal. If someone could explain it to me, I would genuinely appreciate that. To me, there's a lot of sameness, and a lot of so-so songwriting. I'm listening to this album more and more, and I'm starting to see it, but I still feel l..."  [+]  Reply

"2013 is turning out to be an amazing year for electroacoustic albums. This is easily Tim Hecker's most dynamic, attention-grabbing work. Also possibly his best. Here, the melancholic stupor present in his other work gives rise to fear and desperation, with moments of refuge scattered throughout. ..."  [+]  Reply

"I was particularly apprehensive to delve into this album. The running time and density that I had been hearing about certainly didn't inspire much confidence. And you know what? It turned out fine, because this album is incredible. Yeah, some of it is a bit self-indulgent and seemingly arbitrary,..."  [+]  Reply

"this album goes beyond concept. you see, the problem with concept albums is that you can't always listen to tracks separately, you need to listen to the full piece. but donald achieved something great with this one. it's perfect (and ironic?) for a party, it's perfect for when you're feeling lone..."  [+]  Reply

"It's not as big of a change as a lot of people think it is from the usual Sigur Ros, but you can easily point it out from the other album's sounds. My only problem is that a lot of the songs are shorter, and don't build up as much as other Sigur Ros songs; they are pretty immediate. But really mo..."  [+]  Reply

"A lot better than his first album in my opinion, but still some songs seem too linear. And sometimes the songs have such similar qualities that they go past the realm of just 'his style' and go into the realm of a lack of creativity, if that makes any sense. But songs like Overgrown, Retrograde, ..."  [+]  Reply

"I was really taken aback by this album. I always thought of Cage the Elephant as a band that used to be cool before making soft pop-rock hits. But I had never really listened to them, and this actually turned out to be a very musically interesting album. Sure it has Come A Little Closer and Cigar..."  [+]  Reply

"Album rating - 72, average track rating - 79. Hmm. 7/10 is probably fair though. The people bashing this album hard are enjoying being on the bandwagon of 'watching the strokes' slow and painful death', when if a new band had released this they would probably have reasonably enjoyed it."  Reply

"Listened to this on a long car ride home with all my friends last night. They were blown away and the whole car ride was almost hypnotizing with the repetition and slowly evolving songs. This is an outstanding album that I'll always return to."  Reply
