"Freddie Gibbs displays full control of the music on this album consistently. He's so comfortable as he dances between the smooth and the rough tracks of the record. Some of the sickest flows of the year. Great synchronicity between Gibbs and The Alchemist. The features don't work as well I think." Reply

"A real solid record from MJ, expanding his indie rock sound to take on a little more of a country influence. Got a few of the tunes very much stuck in my head currently!" Reply

"I can't help the feeling I've heard all about it before, I didn't manage to find any unique aspects that would make it memorable. This includes sound (both the poppier and the R&B elements) and especially lyrics/vocals. Still, its charm is undeniable, it was catchy and enjoyable - as pop music sh..." Reply

"I will shamelessly admit I had no idea who Mdou Moctar is prior to listening to this album, so you can easily imagine it was quite the experience, something like a punch in the face. The first thing I noticed is that - in my opinion at least - the production’s handling is exemplary. Despite addin..." Reply

"Futuristic music filled with a vibrant mood from the past. it reminds me of late Glam Outsider works, but using a musical language 45 years younger and not only this but heading towards the future. But the link to the past adds not only a sense for drama but also for subtle details. This might su..." Reply

"Not many bands or artists have successfully reinvented their sound over and over like Arctic Monkeys. It’s not as much of a departure in style as TBHC was to AM, but there is a clear evolution from their 2018 sci fi themed concept album. The Car is a beautiful and rewarding listen, and you have t..." "An album I more appreciate than like. Some of it is a little too mawkish for my taste, and the songwriting is super hit and miss. But it's a phenomenal display of influences and styles that come together with surprising consistency. I can't wait to see what Sawayama does next." Reply
