All I'm saying is that it seems to me that that little sub group is a larger percentage of the whole than sub groups of other genres.

Also I think this tourney should have been limited to just female artists rather than members of a band. Although i would rather listen to the Pixies than Aretha, comparing Kim Deal with her is impossible. |
How is Kim Deal any less of an artist than Aretha Franklin? What does Aretha do that Kim Deal doesn't?

I meant *solo* artists. It's just impossible to compare a member of band to a solo artist without just comparing the band itself to a solo artist.
The Pixies vs Aretha Franklin is a much different comparison. And probably one that most people are using when deciding in this poll.

🤔 I sort of agree with Necharsian, although it doesn't seem fair to exclude these artists from a tourney just because they were/are in a band. It's not like they are contributing less than the solo artists anyway. And if not, then perhaps we should start removing artists that had help from producers, lyricists and session musicians.
I suppose the best you can hope for is a certain amount of understanding from the voter. Ex don't vote for Nico because of her work on Heroin.

I would vote for Kim Deal over Aretha based on her Breeders work alone; simply more interesting to me. her Pixies work sets her over the top
