I'm not blaming them for that 🤣 But, I'm just trying to say that in the entire history of rock music, these are the acts that get chosen.
Considering Miles is in it, shouldn't Mingus & Coltrane? They were of the same stature.
Sorry if I'm going overboard, but this entire thing is a really big pet peeve for me
If you haven't heard any of the artists you mentioned, you really probably should. What happened in the '50's and 60's was very important in the evolution of the music you listen to today, and it shouldn't be forgotten. Or ignored. I don't agree with a lot of what the R&R HOF does, but ast least they have gotten a lot of the pioneers in.
Miles should be in. Fusion is a part of rock (even if not a lot of people listen to it), and Miles Davis was a big part of that. More so than Mingus & Coltrane. _________________ I'm leaning on the threshold

The Everly Brothers, Ritchie Valens, Dion and the Belmonts, etc, deserve to be inn They are pioneers. Velvet Underground with Lou Reed are very well known. These are recognizable people.

I love Miles. Just to be clear. 😜 But it should just be rock 🫢 & Soul is ok too I guess.
Elaborate on how fusion is part of rock? 🤔 _________________ Doubles & Conch
Meh. Not 100% true. The Velvet Underground are in there, and they never got on any 'charts' or anything. Nor did they get much radioplay.
And, personally, I've never even heard a song by The Platters, LaVern Baker, Jimmy Reed, Sam & Dave, Duene Eddy, Little Willie John, The Rascals, Lloyd Price, Gene Vincent, The Moonglows, Ritchie Valens, Brenda Lee, The Dells, Little Anthony and the Imperials, The Hollies, Darlene Love, The Blue Caps, Donovan, Famous Flames, Small Faces or The Midnighters.
There all in it. 😐
Anyone have an artist I should check out first?
EDIT: OH SHIT. The Pretenders are in it? 🧱🧱 ](*,)
I've never heard most of these artists either, but I thought I'd point out that if you've listened to Jack White's new album then you actually have heard a song by Little Willie John. I'm Shakin' is a Little Willie John Cover.
