Hey, music producer here, I use pirated ProTools ($0) with dozens of pirated plug-ins ($0), and also a pirated FL Studios ($0) that I run through Parallels ($0) on my two stolen macs (an iMac and a Macbook) that I bought of the black market ($200 and $500 respectively).

As for a mic, I have an MXL 990 and 991 (retail price $300, I bought it on sale for $50) or I use direct input with a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter.

So, you know, if you want to be stupid and frivolous like SOME people are with their money, you can, but there's always a cheaper way around it.

Holy smokes how do you afford stuff like that?

Mixcraft has always done me fine when recording some of my own stuff. At the end of the day it slides audio tracks around and you can add reverb and stuff - what more do you really want?

I don't actually own any of it... Just to be clear. I just have a studio that I have free access too 🫢

But, yeah, Mixcraft is what I personally have on my PC... And I love it 😄

Or, as Jack has pointed out, you can just pirate it all 🙄

I use mixcraft with my computer mic. You can buy it online for like 100 bucks or less right to your hard drive. It's not great, but it's pretty good for the money. Plus it's really easy to use.

But it can really get expensive if you want to record proper drums. As for Pro Tools: waste of money, get REAPER.

EDIT: Just found this, interesting; Pro Tools vs. Reaper
