Every word is different even if they're supposed to have the same meaning. If screw is exactly the same word as fuck then why is one offensive when the other isn't? Clearly they convey a different message.
Obviously if you went to the doctors you wouldn't talk about your dick, you'd say penis. In other situations (use your imagination) you wouldn't talk about your penis, you'd say dick.
