I never thought anyone would press charges, I just thought I'd give an example of good patronizing.
It's fun to make fun of that same Scrabble player about his extreme inability to play Chess. There's no limit to how easy you must go on this guy. I couldn't get easy enough! He's hopeless!

As smart as I'm sure you all seem to be, I just wanted to let you know, the etymology of the word patronize actually comes from 16th century when Tequila was first made.
It has to do with the inebriating effect of Patrón. It's probably too esoteric to catch in your daily reading of the New Yorker.
