They're annoying but they can be easily ignored by use of the scroll bar.

There is already a restriction in place of 400x150 pixels for images in signatures. For those people with bigger sig's that have circumvented the image validation, your signatures may be removed.

When people first started using them I thought people were spamming pictures, I ended up scrolling through five or so pages of what I thought was spam, until I realized what they were.
