If your problem with the 80s is synths, drum machines, and samplers, I can't help you. Most of what I love in the 80s is New Wave.

I guess if you spelled out what you DON'T like about the decade, it would help more to determine what you might like.

I forgot to mention but Beefheart's two 80s albums are also great if you like him.
