I hate to hate on people's charts, but it seems unlikely that someone could listen to a breadth of music yet still have the same favourite albums as The Rolling Stone magazine.
I love all these albums, but I'd love more to see something new.

It's really not that different than your own chart.
Actually, that's always something that bothers me when I rate charts. I mean, I obviously love it when a chart is different, has its own feel, it's own personality, and surprised at each page, and I'm bored by charts containing classic choices everywhere. In this case, I usually comment something like "listen to more music" or "I wish there was more interesting picks", but after that I always feel guilty, because its not like my chart was the more original either. Most albums on it are in the top 1000. I never know what to do. Do someone with a mainstream chart have the right to criticize another chart for being mainstream? Whatever there is in my chart, I'm bored with mainstream ones. My enjoyment of them doesn't depend of what I have on mine. So why my rating should? I'm usually really confused by that. I don't know if I made my point clear, though.

I totally understand. Rating people's taste in music is even more ridiculous than rating music itself. I think there's benefit to rating what you like, but at the same time there's no exact science or criteria in doing so.
My overall chart has a ton of the classic choices. There's a reason they're classics and universally loved. It may be boring to see, but it is what it is. I could totally just fill my chart with my more obscure favorites but it's a bit dishonest, so I just hope if people like my overall chart they may explore my Decade and Year charts which go quite a bit deeper. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com

The point of the charts is to express an honest opinion about what albums we love, it shouldn't matter if they're 'mainstream' or not.
Anyway, I like this chart, there's some great picks in there and of course the Bossanova inclusion is a nice bonus! _________________
