Souvenirs d'un Autre Monde by Alcest

First listen. Not a direct Happymeal rec, but I've found it through his chart. It'd better be good, because knowing that it's French metal-shoegaze, I'm super hyped.

OOsome album. On par with some of best shoegazing albums and more varied than many of them. I think it's in my 2000s chart's top 10.

It's indeed awesome by now. It'll need relistens, but it's definitely something great ๐Ÿ˜„

Hosianna Mantra by Popol Vuh

I still don't know what genre to name this. Gorgeous.

Edit : wow, it's SO GOOD. It may be the first Slayer album to break through my chart. I don't know. This band is a little bit like Creedence Clearwater Revival for me, in the sense that I have a hard time trying to distinguish their albums. They're all super fast, super violent and super screamy (Slayer, not CCR, eh), so I'm never sure which one I prefer. It might be this one...

Aww yeeaa ๐Ÿ˜Ž
My favorite Slayer album after Reign in Blood. Both are amazing, and I think Seasons in the Abyss has a more mature sound, but Reign in Blood just flows so damn well and it's just a short, intense trip. Plus you can't beat the drumming on Reign in Blood.

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones

This is obviously fantastic. That said, it's not top 20-fantastic' I'll put it down on my chart. I'm therefore thinking about having a giant RS re-listen session to find out if there's one of their album which is top 20-fantastic.

The album you are looking for is Beggars Banquet.

It'll obviously have its chance tonight. I'll see what I think about it then ๐Ÿ˜‰

Right now I'm on

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones

Wow, it starts with really strong songs. I had forgotten about how great Brown Sugar was in particular.

Edit : it's not quite finished yet, but I like it more than Let It Bleed. Not by far, and it's still not top 20-fantastic, but still, Let It Bleed will leave my chart for sure tonight.
