Post is my least favourite album among her four critically acclaimed albums, but it's still pretty impressive. That woman could do no wrong in the 90's.

I didn't (and don't) find "It's Oh So Quiet" terribly awkward. It's her weakest track, but as a throwaway to showcase some diversity and a sense of fun, it's not bad. _________________ Finnegan was super bad-ass.

You're probably right. I can't be objective, heard it too much, can't bear it now. But it might be a welcome touch of diversity.
I actually listened to this yesterday (along with Homogenic) and liked it quite a bit more than I remembered. The latter LP is still miles better, though, it just feels wildly more consistent. This album clearly shows a lot of room to grow, but I'm still very impressed. "Hyperballad" and "Possibly Maybe" are personal favorites. _________________ My top songs of the 2010s

Still think it's her highest peak. The variety of sounds, the simultaneously mournful and hopeful lyrics and just really strong songs combine to make an album that was way ahead of its time.
It's very good, although the best was yet to come, and "It's Oh So Quiet" is terribly awkward.

Anyway, I consider this to be the peak of her career. As much as I love the albums that came immediately before and after it (one of my favorite three-album runs ever), none of them showcase quite the same level of diversity or extraordinary level of melodicism as this album. Just gorgeous from start to finish, and, as Jhereko said, incredibly ahead of its time.
