How come no one on this site listens to early common!? this is awesome :p
I do, but I prefer Resurrection to this (a popular opinion I know, but one I can see the reasoning behind - Resurrection is more consistent, more focused, has better beats). One Day It'll All Make Sense is hit and miss and faaaaaaaar to long, and the latter of those two criticisms can be applied to Like Water For Chocolate too, but I feel that's a much better album than its predecessor. But yeah, his first four albums are all pretty dope, especially the first two. It's been a while since I've listened to Can I Borrow A Dollar?, so I might do so today actually. With that in mind, I'm going to try and edit my hip-hop decade charts to come up with a concise 100 Greatest Hip-Hop Albums chart, one album per artist. That said, I've got plenty of other hair-brained schemes planned, so it could be a while. But yeah, moral of the story is Common was dope back in the day (pre-Gap).
ButterThumbzI always used to wonder if she wore false earsProfile O'er the hills and far away
