Is it solipsistic in here or is it just me?

I did, because Chicago's debut album is one of my favorites of all time. It was close for me, but I've always had a special spot for that album. _________________ Progressive Rock

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Chicago actually called The Chicago Transit Authority on their debut album?

Yea, the album nominated here is actually their second album. _________________

Thank you. Personally I would have voted for Chicago if it was their first album when they were the CTA. This poll was the hardest one for me to vote in so far.

Ha, yea, my mistake. Forgot CTA came out in '69. I've always referred to it as "Chicago II" rather than just "Chicago". Regardless, "Chicago II" is another favorite of mine, my second favorite Chicago album behind CTA. _________________ Progressive Rock

Not a gigantic Chicago fan here, but I do think people are too harsh on the band as a whole simply because most people automatically think Peter Cetera and all the overprocessed overplayed 1980s ballads, but I'd say their stuff through Terry Kath's death was much better than the Cetera pop hits that probably made them the most money.
I love The Carpenters but don't understand why Close To You was nominated for AOTY considering half of the album were leftovers from "Offering/Ticket To Ride". To me, later albums like A Song For You and Passage were most stronger as entire albums.

I don't know much about the rest of the Chicago album, but 25 or 6 to 4 is a beast.
