This is my first time listening to Hospice. I turned the volume up so I could hear the lyrics in "Sylvia" and I was startled when the drums kicked in...
:? Well it's certainly not the best starting point to get into electronic music, although don't listen to more BoC if you didn't like this, it's pretty representative of their work.
I could disagree more, but I still disagree. While MHTRTC doesn't do too much for me, Geogaddi features a much darker sound and is one of my all time favorite, while The Campfire Headphase has a very acoustic sound to it. There's a middling possibility you won't like one album but you'll like the others (I know a few people where that applies to TCH)

True, although I was making this statement to Drakonium, who absolutely hated the album, and the things he expressed a distaste in are present throughout prettymuch all of BoC's work. Geogaddi is my favorite as well btw.
I bought this on a bit of whim because someone told me they were sort of like the Smiths... Well I suppose they sort of are in a very sort of kind of way...
This is another one I'm undecided on.. So back on the keepers pile...
If I keep dithering around like this and giving everything another chance, then the 700 or so evaluation pile is going to take forever to get through and I'm not going to downsize as much as I would like!

I didn't hate it at all, although I wasn't super impressed by it either. Except the track "Washer." That one might earn this album a second listen sometime soon. It's also surprisingly dark and heavy. _________________

Interesting, if you want to continue down the road of dark post-rock, Godspeed You! Black Emperor is the band to check out next, although the more ambient portions of their albums might lose your interest.

Step ahead of you there. I actually loved Lift Your Skinny Fists, much more than I just enjoyed Spiderland, but I have yet to check out any of their other albums. _________________

Oh, that's cool, F#A# is probably their darkest, although it's also the most ambient, Alleluhah Don't Bend, Ascend is a bit more "active". I'd recommend listening to Swans now.
as for me

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Wow im surprised how much i'm loving this. I listened to this a long time ago, I remember thinking it was a bit too countyish for my tastes, although right now it seems like the perfect amount.
