I'm probably one of the people who never take themselves seriously, it's a bad habit of mine to make a joke out of everything I possibly can, something I want to stop so I stop irking people as much, but it's something I also really enjoy doing. Anyways, basics of the the story is that I'm not good at taking myself seriously, or anything or anybody for that matter, though if someone is in a tough bind, depressed, or etc. the habit drops a bit.

I'm kind of the same way, though it varies on my mood.

That's a big one. 🫢 Out of curiosity, do other people see this in me? Because I sure can.

Hmm... so you're analyzing whether you overanalyze things?

My only advice is that soliciting for personal evaluations on an internet forum is possibly the slowest path to self-improvement imaginable. 😜

Every time I try to act laid back and be the life of party it still has a sad undercurrent, so I don't know, I think the important thing is just to be yourself

I have the tendency to take things way too seriously myself. Two counteractive thoughts.

The first one I've always tried to live by: "If you can't laugh at yourself, you've no business laughing at anybody else." So, you've got to learn to laugh at yourself, which is trickier than you'd think, and you may have to resort to public displays of ridiculousness.

The second one I've discovered recently, present here as my new signature line:

I regard having a sense of humour as an invaluable asset when it comes to surviving the absurdity of existence. Hang in there, an_outlaw.

Humility is an admirable personality trait.
