A few tracks are even better than what I remember, but a few other, though good, aren't exactly great. Overall, it's still excellent (maybe slightly better than I thought), but I wouldn't call it one of my favorite hip-hop albums.
Hehe, it's not so much my accuracy, this song is a punk classic and it's hard not to be blown away by it when it arrives for the first time 😄
Anyway, I'm very glad you love it so much. Have you ever listened to The Undertones? You have the Buzzcocks on your chart, so I'm pretty sure you'd love the Undertones. Their self-titled is absolutely amazing IMO, it's pop-punk, and the singers' voice is pretty incredible. Their single Teenage Kicks wasn't on the original pressing I think, but it was added to all the later ones, because it's one of the best punk singles ever. If you're going to listen to the album, try to get a version with that song, there's no way you can miss it :P
I listened to that Richard Hell album, like, 3 times in a row last night. A new addiction.
I'm listening to The Undertones now. I hadn't heard them before, and I'm liking it. The missing link for me might be the vocals. They're not really grabbing me. I tend to prefer, I don't know, spunkier vocals? "Sexier" vocals? I can't put my finger on it, but there's something that I'm missing in these. The vocal sound reminds me a little of Dead Kennedys. Which isn't really a criticism, because I actually like Dead Kennedys. So I'm sort of losing track of whatever I was trying to say. Anyway, I really like the music, and it's definitely fun, catchy, poppy punk. Thanks for the recommendation. Your track record is pretty stellar so far. Keep 'em coming! No pressure. 😉
