This started off so beautifully. I feel like I'm floating. Black metal is always in a kind of precarious position for me. I really like the raw emotion of screamed vocals, but it can sometimes teeter into the territory of sounding silly, and I quite like dense noisy guitars, they're good to hide in, but it can also teeter into just making my ears sad, lol. So far this feels really poignant and lovely. I basically just went through Necharsian's black metal chart and picked a few I thought seemed cool based on title or cover art or what he said about it. I went with this one to try right now, and I am thoroughly enjoying it thus far.
Edit: Well that was fucking incredible. I'll be listening to Melancholie sometime soon, if not later tonight. TheStarsAreDeadNow might just make my chart. I don't care if it is an EP. Hell, The Shape of Punk To Come might make my chart too! I've had some really lovely music experiences today. 😄 Not to mention the fact I've been in love with Script of the Bridge by The Chameleons since yesterday. 😄 I'm feeling kind of happy due to all this beautiful new-to-me music. Music is escapism for me, I suppose. Love you guys.
