These. I don't wanna go all an_outlaw on you guys, but I have a feeling a handful of people voted for FF without listening to the Vashti album. Though maybe I'm just naturally distrustful when albums I feel should win by a landslide don't win at all.

I wouldn't doubt this. Kind of disappointed, even if I like Fleet Foxes, but Vashti wins in my heart and that is all that matters.

I was the deciding vote. Vashti was nice but a bit boring, and I'm a fan of Fleet Foxes. Nothing on the Vashti album had nowhere near the impact on me that White Winter Hymnal or Blue Ridge Mountains had. And come on guys, I'd say that for an album that's not even in our top 2000 to compete this closely with an album in our top 100, proves this idea wrong.

Sorry, I'm not trying to accuse anybody. It's just that I've met precious few people in my life who have listened to Just Another Diamond Day and not loved it. It's not terribly popular, hence why it's not ranked very high, but I'm personally just surprised that more than 50% of people who have heard both would prefer Fleet Foxes. Maybe that's the way it is, but I just find it surprising is all

Pity, but I think Vashti will dominate the "Best Sophomore Albums Released More Than a Decade After the Debut" tournament.

I love Another Diamond Day, but I feel like Fleet Foxes get a really bad rep in a lot of places. Of course it's always a question of taste and what not, but they do a lot of interesting things in their music. They use unconventional tunings in a really interesting and subtle manner, they integrate baroque instrumentation without feeling too grandiose most of the time, and overall at least have the ability to make a really nice atmosphere. Of course they're part of the indie folk explosion, but I would set them apart from bands like Bon Iver even as something completely different. Anyways, I'm just rambling and I will admit that maybe they have too much attention thrust upon them, but I feel like a lot of people shit on Fleet Foxes more than they would if they just didn't like them for being part of that indie folk scene, and I very legitimately love them.
