First listen. WTF

First I heard that I was like "must've downloaded the wrong file."

Let me know what you think. That album just keeps going up in my estimation. Come my next 2013 chart update, it could well be in the Top Ten.

Very strong release, and definitely something that falls into my taste in music. Powerful vocal performance without over acting, and I particularly enjoyed the very simple but effective lyrics - the production was also surprisingly raw and honest at times. It dipped now and then, but the mix of styles, especially between electronic and acoustic, kept things interesting. Definitely sounds like a grower, I'll be revisiting it some time later this week.

When thinking of comparisons I could only think of UK artists, so it's interesting to hear this coming from the US.

Yeah, I've just reached the half of the record, and I must say it's not enjoyable at all. It sounds like a really bad punk album recorded by guys who didn't play any instruments, and decided to hit metallic things with their heads and scream over it. That said, I didn't really expect to like it at first. I don't know what to think of that actually. Maybe I need to hear more industrial / noise / whatever music to "get" this one.

Have you heard Soundtracks for the Blind? I find it is a nicer album to listen to, even though it is really long. At the very least listen to "Helpless Child", that song is great incredible amazing perfect.
