SilverWalrus' post is pretty much what I think, although dmercado is right when he says people should write something about the album they are listening to. Many people just come and post some Beatles or Radiohead album, it's cool, but I really don't give a fuck. Even a short opinion, like "I love it", or "it's boring" or whatever would still be better.
I seriously can't get tired of that. I discover new things every time I hear it, it just keeps attracting me again and again. Contort Yourself is truly a breathtaking song. Not sure it'll make it to my overall, but this will be for sure high on my decade chart. The music is basically dissonant trumpets and guitars doing what seems random notes with a guy screaming on top of it. I didn't even know I liked that kind of thing. If you are interested in punk music but haven't listened to that, give it a listen, seriously. It's unlike everything I've heard before. Some incredible music here. I already love the genre discovery thing.
Honestly I like this [/img]almost as much as her last record, I don't understand why community's like RYM are ignoring the quality here for whatever reason. Damn strong and I love it.
Second listen. Very Queenesque, but I'm pretty sure you had warned me. I love Queen anyway, so that's OK. It's very solid, I like it a lot. The songs are a bit all over the place it seems, it may take one of two other listens to get a precise idea of the whole thing.

I loved Buy. Seriously. Loved it. ๐
Cool, I'm glad you're giving that album a try! There are definitely some songs that stand out more than others (The Rocketeer and A Dangerous Man are my favorites, so I guess it's a little front-loaded for me) but I really love it all. That one actually isn't as Queen-ish as they got with their next releases. If anything, I'd sort of criticize that they got so Queen-like after this, because I think there's a raw energy on this one that is mostly lacking in their next albums (even though those are totally melodic and fun in a poppy, polished way), which makes me gravitate toward this one most. I'm glad you're checking it out anyway. ๐
Listening to this now (first listen) and enjoying it:
