Sometimes some posts are so so so great that you want to thank that person for writing it.I think there should be a "thanks button" or sth like that.and it can have 1 point for the user for each "tnx" that the post gets.

If you mean comments there is already an upvote.
But one for the forums wouldn't be too bad.

It'd play like a karma system that other message boards have wouldn't it? I've always been unsure about karma systems as they are abused in my experiences.

Upvotes are cancer to discussion, just look at Reddit. I think we should try and avoid a system like that.

It would be cool for there to be an easy way of showing you agree with someone or that you appreciate their post without actually having to post yourself with "this" or " Laughing " which make for pretty terrible posts.

Still, I think on the whole it's a bad idea for a whole load of reasons, mainly that people will be less honest with their posts and that the forums could quickly become a popularity contest.

This. The great thing here is everyone's opinions, for the most part, are going to get read. With upvotes, it gets a lot weirder. A lot of the best things I've seen on reddit were buried in threads due to the strange upvoting system.

Also I don't mean to be mean about it, I don't know if you're English learning or just made a mistake, we all do it, but its "useful" not "usefull".

Personally, I don't think it's bad idea to have a 'thanks' button as that might weed out some very short posts, like HigherThanTheSun mentioned, but I disagree with the part about being awarded points for each vote as that could lead to all sorts of gamesmanship.

We debated a similar idea a while back. A couple of things stopped this being implemented last time: One was me getting in the way a bit & wanting to use the idea to help police the forums (by adding a down-vote too - which, in hindsight, might not have been the brightest idea); & second, people were worried about the feature helping to enforce clique behaviour.
