One of my favourite 2013 albums. Its ambient leaning sound-collage/tape-music sort of stuff. The tracks are built from lumbering loops, with some glitchy sounds, very hazy sounding drones and rather pretty melodic fragments. It creates a moody, almost eerily nonchalant atmosphere in a way that seems really unique to me. People should listen to it.
It's pretty ironic, because I've always said people that I thought The Police was shit based on Synchronicity, their most acclaimed work. Just listened to this for the first time, and I must say it's mad dope. It's awkward, I'm feeling stupid right now. Well Synchro is still shit, but The Police definitely isn't.

๐ I wouldn't call it shit but I'm not a big fan of Synchronicity, whereas this is #40 on my chart. Great album through and through
In which Walker continues his crooning career, only this time he sounds like a Sinatra on meth and nitrogen. Walking on the thin of line separating ridicule and grandeur, guess which side he most oftens falls in.
To be fair, this was an absolute favorite of mine from the moment I heard the opening riff of "Yes" for the first time. It's so raw and emotional and unrelenting and I love everything about it. But this past week or so I've had it practically on repeat. It's one of the most genuinely cathartic experiences I've had in a long, long time. This will probably land in my top 5 in my next chart update.
