Would you say it is weird that I buy vinyl records more for having a physical representation of the music I like than actually preferring the sound? That's not to say I don't listen to them...But I actually probably prefer digital to listen to most of the time. Probably because anytime I'm listening to a record I feel like I'm having a panic attack...I'm scared it is going to spontaneously combust or something. O_O Hopefully that passes. Records are just so fragile. XD Watching me put the needle on the record is like watching an elephant trying to play jenga. I like the look of records though. They please me aesthetically.
Regardless, I'm a noob.
I can understand that. I'm sort of the same way. I spend most of my days away from home, listening to digital files, so I don't listen to my vinyl nearly as much as I'd like, but will still buy my favorite albums on vinyl for the sake of having them physically.

Not weird at all, I can pretty much relate to everything here, I'll listen to most music via iPod still but I'll gladly purchase vinyl or CD's too if the price is right. _________________
A lot of times when I hear an album for the first time that just totally blows me away, I find myself putting off listening to it a second time for months. I've only just noticed this habit of mine. I wonder if I'm subconsciously afraid it won't be as good the second time and I don't want to be disappointed ๐ค

Nowadays my first listen of an album is mostly putting it on as background music, and that's almost enough to give me a rough idea. An advantage is that it makes me want to come back a second time for the details.
I've found and collated a bunch of older remixes (2010 - 2012) that only ever appeared on ltd/vinyl release and uploaded them to a YouTube playlist - versions done for These New Puritans, Gold Panda, Burial/Four Tet and more
