not so much a great leap forward but an extremely well-executed suite of what she does best: intimate, bittersweet, spare singer-songwriter music given a nicely understated ethereal quality.
Katy B- Little Red
I have to say I like this a lot better than her first record, which was techincally well done but rather airless, this has better rhythem and flow, and plays well against her very cool and icy, yet still subtly emotive, vocal style. The second half has a few too many forgettable throwaways to I think make this something really special as a whole, but she's definitely improving and this is a engaging listen on it's own right.
