Interesting this topic should come up now, a lot of what I've been enjoying lately is heavily reliant on repetition and slow progression. Colin Stetson, Nils Frahm, even Swans...I guess for me it's more that what Im doing at work is basically repeating the same task over and over so I need something that can lull me into a state where I'm comfortable with
