First listen. Major disappointment so far. It contains one of my top 25 songs of all time, Superstition, so needless to say I was hyped as hell for the rest. Well it's not bad by any mean obviously, it's just not remarkable either. Maybe it needs more time, but all I hear is cheesy love songs. There's no musical edge at all, it's like his exceptional songwriting was watered down here.
I've been listening to so much music from the 90s and 00s that I don't want to seem so close-minded. So, I'm exploring music of the 80s to add some variety. So far this sounds more pleasant than Psychocandy. _________________
