A gift for Zed heads. Great to hear them so loose and even sloppy on some of the tracks. Even the failures are interesting. Plus, it's just a blast hearing them have fun again after their rather staid latter albums.
Opens with promise. The Who channeling their inner Pink Floyd. But then it settles into pretty generic AOR 70s hard rock for most of the album. Some great singles, but as a whole doesn't hold up to dedicated listening. Too bad. I remember loving this album in junior high right before metal completely took over my life.
EDIT: Wow. This is so bland I can't even make it through the entire album. NEED TO TURN OFF NOW. KILLING MY WILL TO LISTEN TO MUSIC. phew. made it.

Overall, Lennon's best solo album. It's raw and honest, without all of the inconsistencies that would mark his later albums. A bare bones, honest piece of work with zero frills and nothing fancy.

I've been listening to this today, which I think is my 2nd favorite Animal Collective album, after Sung Tongs.

My album of the day. Thanks to this album, I came to know Demetrio Stratos or Efstratios Dimitriou (Greek: Ευστράτιος Δημητρίου; April 22, 1945 – June 13, 1979). _________________ "And can’t you see you’re in on it?
