World Psychedelic Classics 5: Who Is William Onyeabor? by William Onyeabor

A collection of delightful electronic afrofunk from the 70s. One of my favorite discoveries of last year.

No Depression by Uncle Tupelo

My Charts

Overall #85
1990's #24
1990 #2

Ground zero of alt-country. Jay Farrar and Jeff Tweedy together made some great music...this may not be the first alt-country album, but it's one of the very best.

Nux Vomica by The Veils

Imagine a poppy Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds covering The Waterboys. Also worth noting that the singer's father is the great Barry Andrews (XTC, Shriekback)

That Summer! by Various Artists

A great compilation from days long-lost...this is what happens when you go dinging in an old pile of long forgotten LPs...you step on gold... ๐Ÿ˜„

The Orphan's Lament by Huun-Huur-Tu

I really need to hear more of this sort of music, seeing as I can't stop listening to this one album. The slow droning tracks are really haunting, and the throat/overtone singing is really neat once you get used to it. Completely unique mood.

Somewhere just outside my top 100 at the moment, must get my 2000s charts together and give that album a boost...

My album of today was the album from LeAnn Rimes that was only released over in Europe named Whatever We Wanna. I was lucky enough to get a copy of it when I saw her back in 2006. In my opinion, it should have been released here in the states as well to me it is that good. ๐Ÿ˜„ ๐Ÿ˜„ ๐Ÿ˜„

God bless you and LeAnn always!!! ๐Ÿ˜„ ๐Ÿ˜„ ๐Ÿ˜„

Holly (a day one fan of her)

P.S. To me, the best song on the album is the one named "Head Phones". ๐Ÿ˜„ ๐Ÿ˜„ ๐Ÿ˜„
