Pink Floyd broke ground on three different sounds - Psychedelic Rock, Space Rock, and of course , their utterly unique even to this day, signature sound. No one even tries to cop that one.
Essential
1. Dark Side of the Moon (an album worthy of its hype)
2. Wish You Were Here
3. Piper At the Gates of Dawn
4. Saucerful of Secrets (Space rock is born!)
5. Meddle
RepoSpecial: The Early Singles (primo psychedelia)
Solid Additions
6. Animals
7. Obscured By Clouds (Better than any soundtrack has a right to be, The Who steals the riff from track 2 for Eminence Front methinks)
8. The Wall
9. Ummagumma (the Live sides only - Essential space rock)
Interesting Excursions
10. The Final Cut (Like nothing else except the Pros & Cons Of Hitchhiking)
11. Atom Heart Mother (Purely for witnessing Pink Floyd develop their signature sound)
12. More ( Decent for a soundtrack, Track 2 is arguably proto-punk! )
For Dadrockers & Completists Only
13. Division Bell (Track 2 is Awesome!)
14. Momentary Lapse of Reason
Two other albums that were worthy of inclusion...

Going to switch them back to saturday but I thought the PF discography was a little large to allow for less time. I'll probably run a Monday to Saturday one with Nirvana, the velvet underground or sth.
EDIT (list):
1) Atom Heart Mother
2) Wish You Were Here
3) Piper
4) Meddle
5) Three way tie: Darkside, Animals, Ummagumma
8 ) A Saucerful of Secrets
9) Obscured by Clouds
(this is about where I really stop enjoying Pink Floyd albums)
10) The Division Bell
11) The Wall
12) The Final Cut
