to mies: I enjoyed Hoobastank, nice saxophone and bass sections, sometimes a bit predictable but cool ideas. I would say a funny album, I will play it before my surf sessions!
I will check also "the reasons", just curious to know their next step...
Do u know "The Mighty Mighty Bosstones"? they're a bit more ska-core, I recommend you just the early recordings.
anyway they are not so extraordinary...perhaps 65/100!
Diablo Swing Orchestra are pretty much better, a kind of Avant-garde metal or Symphonic metal with a bit of swing! my fav album is "Sing Along Songs for the Damned & Delirious".

to antonio: Animal Collective are so nice, I think they are so unexpected, never ending surprises! I really like this kind of experimental psychedelic bands!
I've just added Merriweather Post Pavilion on my chart! thanx for the rec!

I don't know any of these two, thanks for the recs!

About Hoobastank, their next step was the self-titled, for real, but it's very bad in my opinion, it's very predictable post-grunge or something like that. Not recommended.
Go on with The Reason, it's better than the self-titled, at least, and it has good ideas. The style is very different because it's much more melodic and closer to pop, but the sounds are quite various and sometimes you can still hear a funk-influenced guitar or bass.
Then they released Everyman for Himself, another pretty good album, imo, but I get why people hate this stuff. That's even more various and more accurated: more interesting, though many songs are slow pop ballads and all the energy has gone.
All the other albums are really bad.

Someone told me "crisis" derives from a greek word, that means opportunity.

The first part is true...the second is not... 🤣

Been watching the Italian art house classic L'Avventura this week. Seemed like a pretty absurd premise to me but wanted your guys opinion if you've seen it. It's worth watching for Monica Vitti alone. And the ending was fantastic.

Hi Repo, I've never seen it but I've just found out a nice download and I'll watch it very soon.
Monica Vitti was so beautiful!

Cool. Let me know what you think.

I agree with your assessment of The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Super fun band to see live though! They catered to the surf crowd and would play this legendary venue called The Ocean Mist that was right on the Atlantic quite often so they'll always have a special place in my heart.
