Goya by Grenadine
just finished this. floored. |
I used to have a mad crush on Jenny Toomey! I haven't listened to this album in ages. Unrest (especially Malcom X Park & Kustom Karnal), Tsunami and The Eggs are all worth exploring!
edit: Interesting how slightly ahead of their time they were. Now that the sounds of slowcore bands like Low and Ida have become assimilated, bands like Codeine and Grenadine are really ripe for rediscovery. A forgotten slowcore gem. Thanks, satie for putting this back on my radar!!! This is perfect.

In The Court of the Crimson King - King Crimson
Wowee Zowee - Pavement
Violator by Depeche Mode
Over the last couple of years I've tried giving the King Crimson album so many chances, but it always fails to captivate my interest after 21st Century Schizoid Man. Truth is, the songs after it aren't bad, it's just they're nowhere near as good or interesting. The closing track is slightly captivating, though. I just don't think it should be in the top 100.
On the otherhand, that Pavement album is quite underrated. I bought it on CD recently for about 5 bucks and it was definitely worth it.
Violator is always interesting.
